Adult Vaccinations

Take Your Best Shot: Adult Vaccines ... At No Charge!

As a State Health Plan primary member, you can get vaccines to arm you against many diseases — at no cost to you! This Public Employee Benefit Authority (PEBA) perk includes flu, shingles, tetanus, pneumonia, HPV shots and more. In fact, all the adult vaccines the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends for your age range, health conditions and risk factors are available at no cost to you at a network provider. (The CDC link leads to an independent site. That organization is solely responsible for the contents and privacy policies on its site.)

Vaccines are one of the safest ways to protect not just your own health, but the health of those around you. Even if you received vaccines as a child, their effectiveness may have worn off, so you may need booster shots. Check with your health care provider to see which vaccines offer you your best shot at a healthy future.

Shingles Vaccine

SHP providers cover the shingles vaccine as an in-network benefit through BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina.

The vaccine and administration fee are covered at no cost to members ages 50 and older. Members can get the vaccination at a network pharmacy or at a network doctor’s office. When a member receives the vaccine at an in-network provider, the vaccine and the administration fee in the doctor’s office are covered, although the office visit is not.
